What Karmup verifies
- Phone OTP: Every account requires SMS OTP authentication to tie registrations to active mobile numbers.
- Email Confirmation: We confirm delivery and ownership of the registered email address.
- Profile Photo: Users provide a portrait photo for in-person recognition during physical handovers.
What Karmup does NOT verify
- No Aadhaar or PAN Check: We do not verify national identity cards or query government identity databases.
- No Police Verification: We do not conduct criminal record checks or physical police verification.
- No Background Checks: We do not perform employment verification or credit checks on users.
Why We Avoid False Guarantees
Many platforms promise "100% verified helpers" or "absolute safety". In real life, no technology platform can guarantee human behaviour.
Karmup connects independent individuals. While we enforce strict community guidelines, suspend bad actors, and preserve records to assist law enforcement when legally required, we do not claim to certify the skill, honesty, or safety of any user.
Users must exercise their own judgment, evaluate task requirements, agree on terms openly, and take sensible safety precautions.
Community Trust Signals
Instead of false corporate guarantees, Karmup empowers users with transparent community signals:
- Ratings & Written Reviews: Post-task evaluations left by genuine requesters and helpers.
- Completed Tasks Count: Transparent display of how many tasks a helper has successfully fulfilled on Karmup.
- Account Age: Clear indication of how long a user has been part of the community.
- Report & Block Mechanism: Immediate user-initiated actions that trigger our administrative review queue.
