How to Start Helping on Karmup

Getting started as a helper is simple, straightforward, and free:

  1. Verify Your Profile (18+ Required): Must be 18 years of age or older. Create an account with your verified phone number, email, and clear profile photo.
  2. Switch to Helper Mode: Any verified user can switch to helper mode directly in the app. There are no prerequisite tasks or upfront costs.
  3. Set Your Skills and Availability: Choose the categories you want to help with, from local errands and household tasks to tech troubleshooting or academic tutoring.

  4. Review Requests and Agree Terms: Browse nearby requests, chat in the app to clarify expectations, and agree on the task price before you begin.

Free Early Launch

Karmup is completely free to use during early launch. Helpers keep 100% of the price agreed with the requester. Karmup does not charge commissions on completed tasks during early launch.

Direct Peer Payments & Future Fees

As a helper on Karmup:

  • You agree the task price directly with the requester in the app before starting.
  • You receive payment directly from the requester (via UPI, personal QR code, or cash) once the task is completed.
  • Karmup does not hold or transfer task payments between users.
  • Karmup may introduce fees in the future and will provide users with advance notice before any fee applies.

Helper Profile Statistics & Private Earnings

Karmup balances neighborhood trust with personal privacy:

  • Public Profile Statistics: Your public profile shows tasks completed, tasks cancelled, and your community rating so requesters can evaluate reliability.
  • Private Earnings Visibility: Total earnings is visible only to the helper in their private dashboard and is labelled "based on agreed task amounts" because payment is settled directly peer-to-peer and Karmup cannot verify it.
  • No Earnings Assurances: Karmup makes zero earning projections or fixed income assurances. You maintain full autonomy over which tasks you accept, what rates you agree to, and when you are available.

Responsible Participation

Helpers operate as independent individuals, not employees or contractors of Karmup or Shivion Solutions. If offering tasks in regulated areas, you are responsible for maintaining any necessary qualifications, licences, and statutory compliance.
