Dispute Resolution
1. How Direct Payments Affect Disputes
Karmup does not operate a conventional automated task-payment refund system because Karmup does not hold, custody, or transfer task payments. All task payments pass directly between the requester and helper via independent channels (UPI, personal QR codes, or cash).
Important Notice: We do not promise that Karmup can recover money in every user dispute. Users must exercise mutual care, agree on clear expectations beforehand, and avoid paying in advance before work is completed satisfactorily.
2. How Disputes Are Submitted and Investigated
When a conflict, incomplete task, or misconduct occurs, either party can raise a formal dispute through the app or by emailing support@karmup.in.
- Dispute Submission: Either the requester or helper initiates a dispute within 48 hours of task scheduling, stating the issue clearly.
- Evidence Request: Karmup may request supporting documentation, including photographs of completed/damaged items, receipts, or external communication proofs.
- Platform Record Review: Karmup reviews in-app chat logs, timestamps, agreed task descriptions, and location stage timestamps.
- Direct User Inquiries: Moderation officers may contact both parties through their registered email or in-app notifications to understand facts.
3. Remedial and Moderation Actions Karmup May Take
Based on objective findings, Karmup may take one or more of the following platform actions:
- Issue formal community warnings to the at-fault account.
- Adjust trust scores, ratings, or account verification standing if a task was provably not fulfilled.
- Temporarily restrict task posting, offering, or chat privileges.
- Suspend or permanently terminate user accounts involved in fraud, harassment, or severe misconduct.
- Remove abusive, fabricated, or retaliatory reviews from public display.
- Preserve digital records and cooperate with statutory law enforcement authorities where unlawful activity is reported.
4. Grievance Escalation
If a dispute involves potential violations of Indian intermediary rules, consumer rights, or data handling, you may escalate your concern to our designated Grievance Officer.
